Staff Ratios

Our staff are passionate that children thrive and reach their potential when there is a high staff to children ratio. If a member of staff is unable to work we have other members of staff and bank staff to cover.

All staff are required to hold an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service certificate, known as (DBS).

At Little Ducklings there is a Key Person system. This means that a team member will be assigned particular responsibility for your child. They will work with you to help the smooth transition of your child into our Pre-School.

When your child starts you will be informed who this Key Person will be. The Key Person will then continue to work with you and support your child through their time with us. They are able to discuss with you any matters that may arise and time is put aside at the beginning of every session for this.

We also support students from local colleges and year 10 students through work experience.

Paula Ryman - Pre-School Manager

Hello, my name is Paula Ryman. I have recently taken over as Manager of Little Ducklings after being Deputy Manager for 13 years. I have been at the Pre-School for more than 17 years.

I have a wealth of training, most recent being Level 5 in Child Psychology. I am the trained Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCo.

I work with my staff to provide a wide range of activities and experiences across the EYFS.

Together we work to provide for all the needs of the children so they are given every opportunity to grow and thrive.

Tracey Lee - Deputy Manager

Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tracey Lee. I have recently taken on the role as Deputy Manager. I have worked for Little Ducklings for 23 years, where I have trained in many aspects of early years.

I am a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Health & Safety Officer. I work and support my Manager to provide and meet all the needs of each individual child.

I believe a good team work to achieve and develop all children through their path of learning in the EYFS.
